SENIOR ACCOUNTING OFFICER SUMMARY: To support the Chief Financial Officer and Reporting Manager in carrying out the responsibilities of the Finance / Accounting Department. Responsible for general ledger accounting activities, ie reconciling balance sheet accounts, etc. Analyses are done on budgets and various other bank operations and reported to the appropriate parties. JOB FUNCTIONS: * Provide presentation of financial statements to CFO and/or Board of Directors, providing solid, researched explanations for questions on any matters. * Prepare monthly financial reporting schedules shared with Executive Management and the Board of Directors. * Prepare and file regulatory reports for the Bank and Holding Company, including the Call Report, FR2900, FR2644, FR Y-8, FR Y-6 & 6A, FR Y9-C, Y9-LP, etc. * Prepare and analyze the periodic allowance for loan loss calculations under ASC 310-20 based on assumptions provided by the credit department; assemble documentation and calculations for review by the Enterprise Risk Management Committee and Board of Directors. * Prepare loan level information in order to run the Effective Yield Model for the purchased credit impaired loan accounting. * Prepare weekly funding and Loan Activity reports * Run Jack Henry/Cognos reports as requested and archive month end reports * Prepare Annual Summary of Deposits Report and Annual Disclosure Statement * Prepares supporting documentation for preparation of the annual tax return and periodic tax reporting. * Assist in the preparation of financial statements submitted to the independent public accountant for audit. * Assist the independent public accounting firm in the annual audit. * May perform other accounting, financial, etc. tasks as may be required from time to time. POSITION REQUIREMENTS: * A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred. * Previous accounting/finance experience working in a financial services environment preferred. * Knowledgeable in financial institution operating policies and procedures and banking regulations, both state and federal. KEY QUALIFICATIONS: * Excellent analysis and observation skills in order to ensure accuracy in all banks' financial reports and reporting. * Good trouble-shooting abilities in order to solve problems independently, quickly and efficiently. * A thorough knowledge of accounting procedures * Skilled in working with financial and numeric data * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office products, Excel spreadsheets, etc. * Strong organizational skills and detail oriented * Ability to be flexible in order to meet deadlines, complete projects, etc.
